Jedok Granite Quarry Wire Sawing

At 0400 hour, i started the long journey to Kelantan to fulfil a job task: testing Hilti CH Wire at a granite quarry. the task is set up by Darryl Fong, Key Account Manager for Hilti Malaysia, you're the man, bro. if we succeed this task, we are blessed with infinite sales of diamond wire for the next 47 years. My task is solely to see if the wire are up to the quary standard. this is a new experience to me and to Hilti Malaysia generally as we never have experience on granite 100%. all we encounter all these time is concrete and this CH wire are the best for this application. now, its show time.
A windy and breezy morning greets me as i exit Kuala Kangsar PLUS exit and enter Jalan Grik - Pasir Puteh. I open the window and enjoy the breeze. You'll never get this at KL.

I stopped at one of the peak of the mountain road. Later i discover there are a better stop with better view but i'm driving too fast that time to stop.

Getting into the quarry, at last. After 8 hours driving, i still need to do some work before i can rest. Delivering the CH wire to the Site Manager. The granite hill greets me gracely.

Breakfast next morning. Ayam Bakar and Nasik Lemak. Really nice food. Kelantan is well known for their exotic food and i agree with the statement. You'll never get hungry here.

A granite block after finish cutting will be broken into smaller pieces. Seen here the worker are already drilled holes before they pouring the expansion mortar so the block will crack itself.

Some view. you can see also the smaller pieces ready for shipment.

Myself with Marini Quarry Sawing Machine. MAde In Italy. Price? Merc E200 Kompressor.

The granite that already sawed off. nice cut eh?

Overall picture of the setup. Be a distance away when the wire start cutting. safety precaution. Why? Leave Comment to ask, TQ.

Myself with smaller granite pieces. Even this small, it is 6-7 ton heavy.

About the performance, i need to wait until this friday before i get my answer. One cut used up 3 - 5 days. Damn, i never expect it will be this long. Roger and Out, i'm coming back at Wednesday, Dec 17 at 0200 hours.

Plus Crash Pole Installation

Last wednesday night i went to Sungai Buloh Plus Toll Booth as one of Hilti's customer, Nakhoda Construction are installing crash pole at the toll booth. you see, recently, there was a lot of accidents happening and they are crashing to the toll attendant and actually when a 10 tonne lorry come crashing to the toll booth, the attendant have no chance to escape.
1. he was busy and focusly attending current highway user who are paying so he are not aware of danger incoming.
2. to up and run from the toll booth in a few second is quite hard to do. the booth are small FYI.
so PLUS come with a solution, install a crash pole good enough to barricade the toll booth from potential danger. the fastening to the concrete structure was done with Hilti HSL Anchoring System.
The contractor using Hilti TE 70 Combi Hammer to drill the hole but bith a lot of reinforcement, they switch to Hilti DD EC 1 Diamond Coring Machine.
i'm there as Nakhoda encounter stuck core bit inside the concrete. this is a common problem as we never know what are we hitting inside the concrete.
I instruct them to put water hose inside the core bit and use a spanner to turn it side way until it can move. then only the removal can be done.

Masjid Baru Klang

this location was preserved for many years before the mosque start to construct. it's been 2 years i think and now it's almost completed. quite a nice mosque and a very good location ( beside the klang river) although the color of the color of the river is not a good sight to look at "sigh".
anyhow i see maybe later klang folks will have congestion problem in Friday as even the road already widened and changed to one way traffic, lack of parking space will bottle neck the road again...
